Fever

During the maternity period, your resistance can be lowered due to exhaustion or a low iron content. Because of this you will have a bigger chance of for example getting a flu or an infection. With an infection you will have a rise in temperature. This can vary from 38 °C to high fever with peaks to 40-41 °C. An infection in the maternity period can occur in your bladder, your uterus, your breasts or your legs. If your temperature rises above 38 °C, you should contact your midwife yourself or via the maternity nurse.
