The maternity period takes eight to ten days. At the end of the maternity period the care for your baby will be transferred to the consultation office. The midwife also closes the care for you at that moment. You can of course still contact the midwife if you have questions or problems about bleeding, brestfeeding or stitches after that time. When you or your baby are ill, you can contact your general practitioner.
About six weeks after the delivery you can come to your midwife for a follow-up. For this you make an appointment in the weeks after your delivery. The follow-up takes place with the midwife who accompanied your delivery, which makes it easier to talk about the delivery and pregnancy.
